About me
I am an advocate for pets, people, youth, the hungry, and equality. It may not surprise you that I was born in the 60's. Early in life. I took a few detours and luckily landed on my feet when I got back on the main road! I raised two children who are adults now, and began my college journey when they were toddlers. I put that dream on hold and returned to Arizona State University to complete my bachelor's degree. I love my professional career at Starbucks Coffee as a retail store manager and have been a part of this organization for 13 years. Over time my role has become much more complex. This has been both challenging and exciting especially over the past 2 years.
My loves, hobbies, and causes.
Annual American Foundation for Suicide Prevention I recruit up to 25 peers annually to serve coffee to participants, and walk to raise funds for the Out of the Darkness Community walk. The American Foundation for Suicide prevention provides educational tools for K-12 and college-level schools, support for survivors of suicide, suicide hotlines and counseling resources for those who struggle with mental illness and survivors of suicide. Over 5 years participation increased from 10 people to 200 people.
